What engine does DownKingo use?
DownKingo wraps the industry-standard yt-dlp binary for extraction, piped through FFmpeg for processing. This ensures day-one compatibility with thousands of sites including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
Is DownKingo truly private?
Yes. The code is Open Source. All processing happens locally on your machine. No URLs are sent to our servers (we don't even have servers for tracking). The only network requests are to standard update APIs (GitHub Releases).
Does it remove ads from downloads?
Absolutely. By converting the stream directly to a file (MP4/MP3), all platform ads are naturally stripped away. You get a clean file ready for offline enjoyment.
Can I download 4K/8K videos?
Yes. Unlike many online tools that limit you to 1080p, DownKingo accesses the premium streams directly, allowing you to download in 4K (2160p) and even 8K (4320p) if the source video supports it.
